    Strathbogie Collection

    by Paul Anderson
Paul Anderson - The Strathbogie Collection: In 2003, when North-east fiddle player Paul Anderson was invited to be Huntly's first "Toon Fiddler" it was inevitable that a collection of fiddle tunes would be one of the end products. The excellent CD The Strathbogie Collection comprises 25 newly written pieces for fiddle (in the traditional style). There are reels & marches, lively jigs, beautiful slow airs and waltzes inspired by familiar local landmarks around Huntly. Paul is a grand fiddler and his excellent compositions are destined to pass into the fiddle repertoire. Paul is accompanied on piano by Andy Thorburn. Huntly, formerly known as Milton of Strathbogie or simply Strathbogie, lies in the Speyside area 33 miles Northwest of Aberdeen.
