Scottish fiddle music as you can see below has many regional styles. The fiddle music played on the west coast comes from bagpipe music whilst the east coast tends to use fiddle music written especially for the instrument eg Neil Gow, William Marshall right up to present day composers like Adam Sutherland or Alasdair Fraser. The bands that play fiddle music are very different from the traditional Scottish Fiddle Orchestra to the very contemporary Peatbog Faeries.
