Shetland is turning out fiddlers at a prodigious rate. Reid is probably the best known, from her performances in native band Filska, and international travels in the pan-Scottish Dochas. Here, with Edinburgh jazzer Kevin Mackenzie on guitar in a line-up of top musos, she lets herself go. And if in the eponymous set of reels she seems to bolt her food, there's more considered mastication, later, in tunes like the Gow lament, or her own 'William And Eileen Reid.'
