Scottish Country Dances - Ah'm Askin'

    by Glencraig Scottish Dance Band

Glencraig Scottish Dance Band - Scottish Country Dances - Ah'm Askin': There are many different styles of Scottish dance (Ceilidh, Reeling, Scottish Country Dance and Old Time are just four of them) and each requires a different nuance from the music to accompany the dance. The  Glencraig Band is one of the few bands that specialises in playing for all types of Scottish social dancing and leader Nicol MacLaren is passionate about set construction and arrangement to match the dance and maximise the enjoyment of dancer and listener alike. This CD, the third in a series of four recordings, again captures the mood, feeling and tempo of the Scottish Country Dance. Excellent sleevenotes with full dance instructions.

Lead Accordion – Nicol MacLaren; fiddle – Gordon Howe; second accordion – Neil Caul; piano – Isobel Hodgson; double bass – John Sinton; drums – David Bell

The CD titles in this series come from the humorous Scots parlance used when asking a girl if she would care to dance!
    "Are ye dancin'?"
    "Are ye askin'?"
    "Ah'm askin'."
We look forward to the final CD in the series which is sure to be titled  "Ah'm dancin'!"
