    Memories Of Jim Johnstone

by Ian Hutson & His Scottish Dance Band

Ian Hutson Scottish Dance Band - Memories Of Jim Johnstone: Accordionist, composer and band leader Jim Johnstone was highly regarded in the world of Scottish Dance music. Ian Hutson pays tribute to the great man in this 23 track album of great dance music. The recording captures the spirit of Jim Johnstone's genius both as a musician and composer, and with the help of his own band and previous 'Johnstone' band members Ian has created an album that offers pleasure and entertainment of lasting appeal.  Jim Johnstone was a a perfectionist in performance and throughout his playing career, continually set standards which most others would be happy to attain. His motto was "always play for your audience".

Ian Hutson (accordion) with Neil Dawson (fiddle), Alasdair MacLeod (second accordion), Jim Nichol (piano), Mark McDougall (bass) and Gordon Smith (drums).
