    Crossing the Spey

    by Raemond Jappy
Raemond Jappy & Maureen Rutherford:  The Glenfiddich Fiddle Champion in 2008, Raemond Jappy's playing is beautiful on this his debut CD on which he is accompaniment by fine pianist Maureen Rutherford. The album comprises a selection of compositions from renowned masters such as Skinner, Mackintosh, Marshall, Nathaniel Gow. But there's more, Raemond and Maureen include compositions from more recent greats such as Shetland's Bobby Tulloch, Ronnie Cooper and Willie Hunter, and then, there's the increasingly popular air "The Gentle Light That Wakes Me" a beauty from the pen of Phill Cunningham.
