The MacDonald Sisters were a musical phenomenon that shook up the traditional folk scene of the sixties and early seventies with their modern and innovative interpretations of Gaelic songs. As an enthusiastic Daily Record reporter commented in 1969 in a review of the documentary “Crotal and White” featuring this singing sensation, “their voices together got to nerve endings you didn’t know you had” October 11th 2010, the first day of The Royal National Mod to be held in Caithness provided the setting for a very special music event – the release of a unique collection of the digitally re-mastered complete recordings of The MacDonald Sisters on their CD “Sòlas Clann Dhòmhnaill”. |
