    Idiom

    by Jennifer and Hazel Wrigley

Jennifer & Hazel Wrigley - Idiom: It is 20 years since the talented Orkney fiddle and guitar playing twins sprang onto the scene with their debut CD Dancing Fingers.  Verve and vitality undiminished the girls are absolutely brilliant on this their sixth album, a sparkling blend of traditional, contemporary and original material, invigorated with jazz, blues and ragtime flavours. Their playing is great and their choice of tunes is excellent from start to finish. Jennifer (fiddle, viola)  and Hazel (guitar, piano) are accompanied by guest musicians 'The Reel' who are: Billy Peace - accordion, piano; Cathy Fink - banjo; Eamonn Coyne - banjo, tenor guitar, Ian Mackay - electric bass; Jim Walker - drums, percussion, pipe band snare; Marcy Marxer - mandolin; Phil Anderson - electric bass; Stuart Shearer - lead guitar.
