Session A9 Live At Celtic Connections (CD/DVD): New live CD/DVD package from the Scots Trad Awards 'Live Act of the Year'. Recorded live at Celtic Connections 2012, the package contains an 11 track audio CD and a DVD of the band in concert.
While the term ‘supergroup' is usually reserved for gatherings of rock royalty, Session A9 have also been described as “The best band to have come out of Scotland in 100 years”, “Tighter than James Brown” and an “Amazing Festival band”. Formed by Capercaillie fiddler Charlie McKerron in 2000 as an ‘album project,' this four-fiddler experience had staying power, and became a full time endeavour for all involved. Session A9 are Adam Sutherland (fiddle), Brian Mcalpine (piano), Charlie Mckerron (fiddle), David “Chimp” Robertson (percussion), Gordon Gunn (fiddle), Kevin Henderson (fiddle) and Marc Clement (guitar vocals).
