Gemma Donald - The Love O' Da Isles: Since winning the coveted ‘Glenfiddich Fiddle Championship’ in 2006, Gemma has gone on to establish herself at the forefront of fiddle playing. Best known for her energetic playing style, her other roles include that of teacher, award-winning composer, session musician, pianist and adjudicator at national competition level. Her eagerly anticipated debut album “The Love o’ da Isles” features a number of her own tunes amidst the virtuosic piano playing of Robert Black. Aly Bain writes: "The Playing Of Gemma Donald is of the quality one expects to hear now from a generation of Shetland players...This CD has something for everyone who loves fiddle music and the piano accompaniment by Robert Black lends itself beautifully to Gemma's playing.
