TMSA Young Trad Tour 2010 - Various Artists: A CD featuring the finalists from last year's BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year competition. On the CD you will hear a powerhouse of Scottish fiddling in this band, led by this year's winner Daniel Thorpe, who, along with last year's winner, Ruairidh MacMillan create an unforgettable twin fiddle sound. Contrasting the fiery fiddles are beautiful Gaelic airs and clarsach tunes from Mairi Chaimbeul and Hannah Phillips. No Trad CD would be complete without the big sound of the Highland Pipes played by Lorne Macdougall, joined this year by fellow piper, Kyle Warren. From the gentle slow airs of the Gaelic Highlands to the storming jigs, reels and the quintessentially Scottish Strathspeys, all these musicians are truly exceptional and make this year's CD an unmissable listen.
