The Selkies' Song
by
Debbie Scott & Willie Johnson
The Selkies' Song - A most welcome CD release of a brilliant recording featuring Debbie Scott on fiddle and 'Peerie' Willie Johnson on guitar. This record was first recorded by Owen Tierney of Attic Records in Orkney in 1985. Owen was so impressed with the duo's performance at the Orkney Folk Festival, he was keen to record them in action. The album proved to be a great hit with Orkney and Shetland folk in particular and is still regarded by some as 'something special'. The combination of these two fine players makes for a swinging CD which has a bit of everything.
