Kathleen MacInnes - Cille Bhride (Kilbride): The many fans of Kathleen MacInnes will be thrilled with this, her long-awaited second CD - 14 tracks of gorgeous song with a plethora of fantastic guest musicians, plus excellent sleevenotes with lyrics in both English and Gaelic. Kathleen is a singer, television presenter and actress, who performs primarily in Scottish Gaelic. She has a gloriously throaty voice which is an absolute delight. In 2010, she appeared on the soundtrack to the Ridley Scott film Robin Hood, and featured in The Transatlantic Sessions Series 5 Vol 1 in the company of Aly Bain and Jerry Douglas. A reviewer said of Kathleen's first album "What a voice Kathie Mac Innes has brought on scene. Sweet as the machair full on, perfect rythmn as an Atlantic roller. Most of all the pungency of a windless, hard frost catch at the back of the throat peat fire day. Once tasted never forgotten."
The musicians accompanying Kathleen MacInnes on various tracks are: Laoise Kelly (clarsach); Iain MacDonald (whistle/flute) Andy Seward (bass) John McCusker (fiddle) Michael McGoldrick (uillean pipes/flute), Donald Hay (percussion), Iain MacFarlane (button box), Ross Martin (guitar) Donald Shaw (organ), Neil Johnstone (cello), Rick Taylor (trombone/brass), Cathy Ann MacPhee (vocals), Sineag MacIntyre (vocals), Bela Fleck (banjo), Allan Henderson (piano), Eamon Doorley (bouzouki), Angus Lyon (accordion), Anna Wendy Stevenson (fiddle)
