| This is the CD all Gaelic fans of Calum have been waitng for - a complete CD of his Gaelic repertoire. Because of commercial reasons Calum never made an all Gaelic CD (other than his own release on cassette tape of 'Gaelic Gold' near the end of his life, which was poorly recorded and did not do justice to his voice). This CD contains a mix of his Gaelic recordings made during the late 1950's and 1960's for Decca/Beltona and Pye. The Beltona/Decca recordings are legendary and include the incomparable Fagail Lios Mor, Bratach Bana and Pheigi a Ghraidh. Others are live recordings (Brochom Lom). The arrangements are superb as is the singing. Anyone who knows about Gaelic music recognises that Calum Kennedy was the greatest Gaelic singer of his generation - so many of us with Highland backgrounds were brought up with his music. This CD is simply a must have - a unique and brilliant CD of Calum's incomparable Gaelic singing. Buy it now -even if you have to pawn your watch or jewellery! |
