The Sunday Herald - Sue Wilson........This might lead non-bagpipe specialists to anticipate something other than the largely unadulterated sound of the Highland pipes featured on his third album, periodically and sparingly accompanied with guitar, bouzouki, bass and (on the dazzling final track) snare-drum.
Duncan's adventurousness , however, lie less in fusion-style experiments than in his bold handling of variations and ornamentation, together with his compositional flair. The latter trait is outstandingly illustrated here in the sultry tonalities and complex Balkan rhythms of The Belly Dancer, or the Spanish-accented Mercedes Trujillo set.
