The 2006 World Pipe Band Championships was won by the Field Marshall Montgomery Pipe Band from Northern Ireland and this CD displays their admirable talents on that great occasion along with the great playing of the next six runner-up bands.

The World Pipe Band Championships, which is held annually in Glasgow, is organised by Glasgow City Council and the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association has been associated with the city since 1948. The Championships take place annually in Glasgow in August when the great city fills with pipers from across the globe. A magical time!The event attracts at least 40,000 spectators and at least  8000 pipers.
