According to Sarah-Jane Summers' CD sleeve-notes, Nesta - an old Celtic word - refers to the River Ness and is said to mean 'roaring or rushing one'. Well, Sarah-Jane Summers' playing on her CD is neither roaring nor rushing, just beautiful both in tone and execution, with an exquisite selection of tunes including several learned from her mentor and teacher the late highand fiddler Donald Riddell.
Sara-Jane Summers: Hardanger fiddle, fiddle
Ewan MacPherson: 6 & 12 string guitars and Jew's harp
Kevin McGuire: double bass
Barry Phillips: 5-string cello
Paul Jennings: percussion
Liz Knowles: fiddle (tr9)
Guy Veale: Tibetan singing bowl, synth, programming on tr12
