Attention All Personnel possesses a priceless 'feel good' factor. It is hard not to feel thoroughly entertained by its conclusion.
with a percolating beat in his squeezebox, and the whole disc crackles with energy...
“Attention All Personnel” might be somewhat scary to hardcore traditionalists, with sampled effects, groove percussion and upfront bass lines throbbing away behind fiddle, whistle, and accordion leads, not to mention tune sets with names like “Phat Jigs” and “Release Da Hounds”, but this is dance music all the way, and its enthusiasic update of Highland styles is a lot of fun. Accordionist John Sommerville is especially good, a Phil Cunningham type with a percolating beat in his squeezebox, and the whole disc crackles with energy.
high-octane guitar, bass and drums that are made for the dance floor. Get funky and jazzy and dancey to The Croft.
a very brilliant and vibrant piece of work...
"Attention All Personnel" is in fact a very brilliant and vibrant piece of work, just the kind of album that only the wonderful Scottish music scene can produce in these days, fresh and modern in the approach but at the same time absolutely and deeply rooted in the great Celtic tradition.
