The Fochabers Fiddlers are a high-energy group of young fiddlers aged between 12 and 17 years first formed in1980 to encourage young musicians to take an interest in their heritage and culture through ScottishTraditional Music.The group were soon in demand to perform locally mainly for fund-raising events.
Under the leadership of James Alexander, the group has gone from strength to strength touring throughout the UK, Europe and North America. The Fochabers Fiddlers have, to date, released seven albums and, in 2008 a DVD.
"The Fochabers Fiddlers" has been the springboard for a number of bands that have gone on to tour and record in their own right. |
